সাধারণত কোনো Verb এর সাথে ing থাকলে সেই Verb কে Participle Phrase বলে। তবে Past Participle ও Participle Phrase হিসেবে গণ্য হয়।

 

লক্ষণীয়, Participle Phrase সাধারণত Object এর পরে বসে।

 

Participle Phrase এর গঠনপ্রণালী – Subject + Vt + Object + Participle Phrase (Verb + ing)

 

উদাহরণঃ

• The baby came to its mother laughing quickly.
• Mr. Habib saw him making a noise.
• I saw her going there.
• Maha saw joy in helping the poor.
• They find me reading a book.
• They went there taking my permission.
• Habib went to Dhaka wearing a shirt.
• He maintained his life begging from door to door.
• He died, leaving all behind.
