It was my long cherished desire to visit the National Museum which is situated at Shahbag in Dhaka. One day I got an opportunity to visit the National Museum when I went to my uncle's house in Dhaka. One Friday being accompanied by my cousin I went to Shahbag by bus. We bought two tickets for entrance into the museum. We entered into the museum and went to the first floor of the building which is the starting point of exhibition. At first, we saw a big map of Bangladesh in which every district and even Upazilas are marked by lights. Then we started to see all the things one after another. There are so many things to see in the museum that one cannot believe without seeing with one's own eyes. Among them, the skeleton of whale, sculptures, world famous Moslin Sharee, Nakshi Kantha, the images of wild animals, musical instruments, different types of coins of the past, war weapons are noteworthy. In the second floor, the picture of renowned and historical figures of our country are preserved. I have enriched my knowledge seeing the things used in our liberation war. We had to spend about two and half an hour visiting all the things. We had to follow the rules of the museum. We were not allowed to touch the arranged things. We have gathered practical experience on visiting our culture, tradition, heritage history and liberation in the National Museum.
