Reckless Price Hike: Consumers in Trouble

Habib Gazi, The Daily Sun, 03 September 2023 – The price of daily commodities is leaping upward day by day. The present price hike causes all classes of people especially low and middle-level earners to suffer a lot. They cannot buy their necessities. No fixed income is enough to meet the present bazaar condition.

It has been reported from Dhaka Malibagh Bazar on the last day that the price of rice is 52-68 TK, Edible oil per liter is 180 TK, Sugar 120 TK, Pulse 140 TK, Onion 90 TK, Beef 900 TK, Mutton 800 TK, Hilsha fish 1200-1800 TK, Ruhi fish 320 TK and so on. In the vegetable market, the price is also very high.

No steps were taken by the govt. can control the upgoing march of the prices. For this, people have nothing to do but to lessen their consumption or sigh only.
