Lawyers Demand Free & Fair Judicial System

Staff Correspondent, Dhaka, August 03, 2023 – Sammilita Ainjibi Smannay Parishad (সম্মিলিত আইনজীবী স্বমন্নয় পরিষদ) at a grand rally of lawyers yesterday made an 18 point demand formulated on the basis of suggestions placed by lawyers to make the judiciary free from “Politicization and corruption”.

The platform of pro-opposition lawyers also demanded the formation of an independent commission by consulting the opposition parties to ensure the appointment of honest and competent lawyers as High Court Judges.

Addressing the rally as the chief guest, eminent jurist Dr. Kamal Hossain said the government was violating the constitution in running the state affairs.

Dr. Kamal also the Gono Forum (গণ ফোরাম) president, said people are passing their days in a sense of insecurity as the rule of law is yet to be established.
