There are ups and downs in life. A man can prosper in life in various ways and in the same way, he may fall. But it is pride which is the root cause of one’s fall in life. If we think from the point of view of religion we can perceive it clearly. When Satan was ordered to bow down before Adam he denied it only for his pride and was cursed. Here we can see that his pride brought down his fall. In the same way, we sometimes feel very proud of our performances, activities, and deeds, and bring about our doom. When we rise to good positions we should not be proud of status or riches. We should thank God and try to make our position better.

বাংলা অনুবাদঃ জীবনে উথানপতন আছে। একজন লোক বিভিন্ন উপায়ে জীবনে উন্নতি করতে পারে এবং একই ভাবে তার পতনও হতে পারে। কিন্তু অহংকারই পতনের মূল কারণ। ধর্মীয় দৃষ্টিকোণ থেকে দেখলেও এটা পরিষ্কারভাবে আমরা বুঝতে পারি। শয়তানকে আদমের নিকট নতিস্বীকার করতে বলা হলে অহংকারে সে তা করেনি, ফলে সে অভিশপ্ত হয়। এখানে অহংকারই তার পতনকে টেনে এনেছে। অনেক সময় আমরা নিজেদের কাজকর্মের জন্য অহংকার বোধ করি এবং সেটাই ধ্বংস ডেকে নিয়ে আসে। আমাদের কখনও ভালো অবস্থানে পৌঁছে সম্পদের বা মর্যাদার অহংকার করা উচিত নয় বরং সৃষ্টিকর্তাকে ধন্যবাদ জানিয়ে অধিকতর ভালো অবস্থানের জন্য চেষ্টা করা উচিত।
