Paragraph On A Wedding Ceremony I Attended
A
wedding ceremony is a matter of joy and enjoyment. Recently I have attended a
wedding ceremony of one of my friends' sister. This enjoyable ceremony took
place on the 25th instant at Samrat Community Centre at Jatrabari in Dhaka. It
was really an attractive ceremony. The whole place was colourfully decorated. A
big and nicely designed gate was made at the entrance of the community center.
In the evening, the gate and the whole community center were illuminated with
multi-coloured electric bulbs. The invited guests began to come in the evening
in motorcars or taxicabs. The bridegroom's party started from Gulistan at
7:00pm and reached the community center at 7:30 pm. About 800 guests from both
sides attended the ceremony. My friend's father Mr Habib and mother Mrs Habib
received the guests very cordially. Then the guests were given seats with great
modesty. After a short time, the tables were full of dishes with delicious
foods. After taking rice, the guests were entertained with curd and cold
drinks. The bearers of the community center served the dinner. Nevertheless, my
friend's parents looked after the guests sincerely. After finishing the dinner,
the formalities of the marriage were completed in a religious environment,
according to the law of our religion. Completing the formalities of marriage,
the guests left their respective seats and entered upon friendly chats and
gossips in small groups. Then I felt delighted that the occasion gave me an
opportunity to meet many at one place to enjoy a pleasant evening.
বাংলা অনুবাদ : বিবাহ অনুষ্ঠান হলো আনন্দ উল্লাসের বিষয়। আমি সম্প্রতি আমার এক বন্ধুর বোনের বিয়ের অনুষ্ঠানে যোগ দিয়েছিলাম। এই উপভোগ্য অনুষ্ঠানটি এ মাসের ২৫ তারিখে ঢাকার যাত্রাবাড়ির সম্রাট কমিউনিটি সেন্টারে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল। এটি সত্যিকার অর্থে ছিল একটি আকর্ষণীয় অনুষ্ঠান। পুরো স্থানটিকে অত্যন্ত আড়ম্বরপূর্ণভাবে সাজানো হয়েছিল। কমিউনিটি সেন্টারের প্রবেশমুখে একটি বড় ও চমৎকার গেইট তৈরি করা হয়েছিল। সন্ধ্যায় গেইট ও সম্পূর্ণ কমিউনিটি সেন্টারটিতে বিচিত্র রকমের বৈদ্যুতিক বাতি দ্বারা আলোকসজ্জা করা হয়েছিল। আমন্ত্রিত অতিথিরা সন্ধ্যার মধ্যেই মোটরগাড়ি ও ট্যাক্সিক্যাবযোগে আসতে শুরু করেছিল। বরযাত্রীর দল সন্ধ্যা ৭টায় গুলিস্তান থেকে রওয়ানা দিয়েছিল এবং ৭:৩০ মিনিটে কমিউনিটি সেন্টারে এসে পৌঁছল। উভয় পক্ষের প্রায় ৮০০ অতিথি অনুষ্ঠানে যোগ দিয়েছিল। আমার বন্ধুর বাবা হাবীব সাহেব ও মা মিসেস হাবীব অতিথিদেরকে অত্যন্ত আন্তরিকতার সাথে গ্রহণ করলেন। তারপর অত্যন্ত বিনয়ের সাথে অতিথিদের নির্ধারিত আসনে বসতে দেয়া হলো। অল্প কিছুক্ষণ পরই টেবিলগুলো সুস্বাদু খাবারে পরিপূর্ণ হয়ে গেল। ভাত খাওয়ার পর অতিথিদের দই ও কোমল পানীয় দ্বারা আপ্যায়িত করা হয়েছিল। কমিউনিটি সেন্টারের বেয়ারারা খাবার পরিবেশন করেছিল। তথাপি আমার বন্ধুর পিতামাতা অত্যন্ত আন্তরিকতার সাথে অতিথিদের দেখাশোনা করলেন। রাতের খাবার শেষ হবার পর, একটি ধর্মীয় পরিবেশে ধর্মীয় অনুশাসন অনুযায়ী বিবাহের কার্যাদি সম্পন্ন করা হলো। বিবাহের আনুষ্ঠানিকতা সম্পন্ন করার পর, অতিথিরা তাদের জন্য বরাদ্ধকৃত আসনগুলো ছেড়ে দিলেন এবং ছোট ছোট দলে বিভক্ত হয়ে প্রীতিপূর্ণ গল্পগুজবে মেতে উঠলেন। তখন আমি এ ভেবে পরম আনন্দ উপভোগ করলাম যে অনুষ্ঠানটি আমাকে একই স্থানে অনেকের সাথে সাক্ষাৎ করতে এবং একটি মনোরম সন্ধ্যা উপভোগ করতে সুযোগ করে দিয়েছিল।
