Paragraph On A Journey by Boat I Made
Any
kind of journey is pleasant to all. But a journey by boat is specially very
pleasant and enjoyable to me. During the last summer vacation, I and some of my
friends made a journey by boat from Munshigonj to Homna. The purpose was to
attend the marriage ceremony of my friends elder sister. On the fixed day, we
hired a fine boat. We had our breakfast early in the morning and started our
journey from Munshigonj ghat at 9:00 am. There were two boatmen. The sky was
clear and the weather was fine too. The river was calm. It was full to the
brim. As the wind was favourable, the boatmen set sail. Soon the boat began to
move fast. We saw a large number of big and small boats plying up and down in
the river. We saw some steamers and motor launches plying through the river.
Fishermen were catching fish in the river. Boys and girls were swimming. Women
were going home with jars filled with water. There were green fields on both sides
of the river. Cattle were grazing there. At last, the boat reached Homna ghat
at 3:00 pm. We got down from the boat and my friend received us cordially. I
enjoyed the journey most. It was one of the most memorable days in my life, indeed.
বাংলা অনুবাদ : যে কোনো ধরনের ভ্রমণই সবার নিকট আনন্দদায়ক। কিন্তু আমার নিকট বিশেষ করে নৌকা ভ্রমণ খুবই আনন্দদায়ক এবং উপভোগ্য। গত গ্রীষ্মকালীন ছুটিতে আমি এবং আমার কিছু বন্ধু মুন্সীগঞ্জ থেকে হোমনায় নৌকা ভ্রমণ করেছিলাম। আমার বন্ধুর বড় বোনের বিয়ের অনুষ্ঠানে যোগদান ছিল উদ্দেশ্য। নির্ধারিত দিনে আমরা একটি চমৎকার নৌকা ভাড়া করলাম। আমরা খুব সকালে নাস্তা করলাম এবং মুন্সীগঞ্জ ঘাট থেকে সকাল ৯টায় ভ্রমণ শুরু করলাম। দুজন মাঝি ছিল। আকাশ ছিল পরিষ্কার আর আবহাওয়াও ছিল চমৎকার। নদী শান্ত ছিল। এটি ছিল কানায় কানায় পূর্ণ। বায়ু অনুকূলে ছিল বলে মাঝিরা যাত্রা শুরু করল। শীঘ্রই নৌকাটি দ্রুত চলতে লাগল। আমরা ছোট-বড় প্রচুর সংখ্যক নৌকাকে নদীতে হেলে দুলে চলতে দেখেছিলাম। আমরা কিছু স্টীমার এবং মটর লঞ্চকে নদীতে চলতে দেখেছিলাম। জেলেরা নদীতে মাছ ধরছিল। বালক বালিকারা সাঁতার কাটছিল। মহিলারা পানি ভর্তি কলসি নিয়ে বাড়ি যাচ্ছিল। নদীর উভয় পার্শ্বে সবুজ মাঠ ছিল। গবাদিপশু সেখানে চরছিল। অবশেষে বিকেল ৩টায় নৌকাটি হোমনা ঘাটে পৌঁছেছিল। আমরা নৌকা থেকে নেমেছিলাম এবং আমার বন্ধু আমাদেরকে আন্তরিকভাবে গ্রহণ করেছিল। আমি ভ্রমণটি খুব উপভোগ করেছিলাম। বস্তুত এটি ছিল আমার জীবনের সবচেয়ে স্মরণীয় দিনগুলোর একটি।
