Change is The Law of Life: Time flows on without any pause. This
is why things are always changing. In fact, change is the law of nature. This
is true not only of physical life. The condition in which a man lives is also
changing from age to age. Thus our mode of living and ideas is different from
our grandfathers. And those of our grandfathers again were different from their
own grandfathers. With the rapid progress of civilization, this difference is
becoming more and more noticeable. The changes may be according to our liking
or may not. We have to accept the new order of things. Then we adapt ourselves
to it. Unless we do this, we shall feel discomfort and make others also feel
bad. This is the reason, why there is often a conflict between the old and the
new. The best course is to retire in time in favour of new men whose ideas are
more in keeping with new forces and development.

এটি কেবল বাস্তব জীবনেই সত্য নয়। যে অবস্থার মধ্যে একজন মানুষ জীবনধারণ করে সেই অবস্থার
যুগ যুগ ধরে পরিবর্তন হচ্ছে। এভাবে আমাদের জীবনধারণ ও ধ্যানধারণার ধরন আমাদের পিতামহদের
থেকে আলাদা হয়। আবার আমাদের পিতামহদের ধ্যানধারণা তাদের নিজেদের পিতামহদের থেকে আলাদা
ছিল। সভ্যতার দ্রুত উন্নয়নের সাথে সাথে এই প্রার্থক্য খুব বেশি লক্ষণীয়। পরিবর্তগুলো
আমাদের পছন্দ অনুযায়ী হতে পারে অথবা নাও হতে পারে। পরিবর্তনের নতুন অনুক্রমকে আমাদের
গ্রহণ করতে হয়। অতঃপর আমাদের নিজেদেরকে এটার সাথে খাপ খাইয়ে নিতে হয়। আমরা সেটা না
করলে অস্বস্তিবোধ করবো আর অন্যদেরকেও অস্বস্তিবোধ করাবো। এটিই হলো কারণ, যাদের জন্য
নতুন ও পুরাতনের মধ্যে প্রায়ই একটি দ্বন্দ থাকে। নবাগতদের যাদের ধ্যানধারণা নতুন কর্মশক্তি
ও উদ্দীপনার অধিক সংশ্রবে থাকে তাদের পক্ষে যথাসময়ে সরে দাঁড়ানো হলো উত্তম নিয়ম।
