Human life is full of needs and wants.
When we face a new problem. We try to overcome it. Necessity leads us to the
solution of the problems. And necessity is a good teacher to solve our
problems. It has always taught man to find out new ways and means. It has
enabled him to make many inventions. The primitive man had no clothes to wear,
no house to live in, no fire to cook his food, and no protection from the sun, cold, and rain. So he began to live in caves, discovered fire to cook and began to
cover his body with the skins of animals. Thus necessity taught him to take
inventions one after another. Nowadays he wears beautiful clothes, lives in
comfortable houses and he has quick means of transport and communication. In
this respect, we can cite a very interesting example. A crow once became very
thirsty. He found no water near him except a small amount in the bottom of a
pitcher. He was not strong enough to tilt the pitcher. Suddenly he is upon a
plan. He found some of the stones near him. He put the stones into the pitcher and
the level of water gradually came up within his reach. He drank the water. Thus
his necessity for water led him to make this invention.

আবিষ্কার করতে সক্ষম করেছে। আদিম মানুষের পরার কাপড় ছিল না, থাকার ঘড় ছিল না, রান্নার
আগুন ছিল না, এমনকি রোদ, বৃষ্টি, খরা থেকে রক্ষার কোনো ব্যবস্থা ছিল না। তাই তারা গুহায়
বাস করতে শুরু করে, আগুন দিয়ে রান্ন করা শেখে এবং পশুর চামড়া দিয়ে শরীর ঢেকে রাখতে
শেখে। প্রয়োজনেই একের পর এক আবিষ্কার করতে শিক্ষা দেয়। তাই আজ মানুষ সুন্দর পোষাক পরিধান
করে, আরামপ্রদ জীবনযাপন করে এবং দ্রুত যোগাযোগের উপায়ও পেয়েছে। এক্ষেত্রে আমরা খুব
সুন্দর একটা উদাহরণ উদ্ধৃত করতে পারি। একদা একটা কাক খুব তৃষ্ণার্ত হয়েছিল। সে একটা
কলসের তলদেশে সামান্য পরিমাণ পানি ছাড়া তার নিকটবর্তী স্থানে কোনো পানি খুঁজে পেল না।
সে এত শক্তিশালী ছিল না যাতে সে কলসটি কাত করে ফেলতে পারে। হঠাৎ তার মাথায় একটা বুদ্ধি
এলো। সে তার নিকটে কিছু পাথর দেখতে পেল। সে কলসের ভেতর পাথরগুলো ফেলতে লাগলো এবং এভাবে
পানির স্তর তার নাগালের মধ্যে চলে এলো। সে পানি পান করল। এভাবে পানির প্রয়োজনেই তাকে
এ আবিস্কারে উদ্ধুদ্ধ করেছিল।
