Duties Towards Parents
We owe our life to our parents. They have taken much for our upbringing. We are really grateful to them. We must try to do good to them.
To show respect to our parents is a part of our religion. All the religions of the world ask us to honour parents. Islam holds that heaven lies at the foot of mother. So it is imperative that we should obey our parents. We must show respect to them. We should constantly look for their welfare.
Our parents love us dearly. They are always ready to sacrifice their comforts for us. They can give their lives for the happiness of their sons or daughters. We were helpless during childhood. They took every care of us. We could die for want of care. So we should grateful to them.
Parents not only gave us food and clothing. They also tried their best to educate and train our minds. It is for their kindness that we are now established in life. So it is our solemn duty to look after them.
Old age is the time of decay. When our parents are old they become weaker. We must look after them more heartily. We should nurse and attend to them when they are sick. This is the beast we can do for their sacrifice.
The sayings go; if parents are pleased. Allah is pleased. So all of us should be dutiful to our parents.
