Loneliness means staying alone without any company. Man is a social being. He cannot live alone. He wants the company of others, especially his friends and relatives. When a person misses the company of anyone in his society, he feels lonely. Loneliness is a kind of feeling. Sometimes we feel lonely in the midst of many people because we do not find any suitable situation to exchange views with them. This kind of loneliness is very painful to us. Loneliness has some harmful effects on our life and activities. A man living lonely for a long time may lose his mental balance and his loneliness may turn into a disease. Ultimately he may suffer from abnormality. On the contrary, loneliness is a blessing for those who want to keep themselves isolated. Those who also want to pray meditatively, want to be lonely. Our prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Sm) kept himself isolated in thought in the lonely cave of Hera for long days and realized that the beautiful world has been made by almighty Allah. Poets and philosophers also need loneliness to create great work. They do not like crowds. But it is true that there is no love and affection in loneliness and without love and affection, human life is impossible. Therefore, continuous loneliness should be avoided.
