Introduction: Football is a very popular game in Bangladesh. But about one hundred years ago there was no football in Bangladesh. When the English came the game came with them. Football is now played all over the world. It is my favorite game.
Field: A football ground must be 120 yards long and 80 yards broad. In the middle of the opposite ends of the field, there are two goals. In each goal, there are two posts. There is a bar on them.
Rules: Football is played according to some rules. There is a referee. He conducts the game with a whistle. The players are bound to obey him. The decision of the referee is final in the field. The rules are the same everywhere.
Players: Football is played between two teams. Each team consists of eleven players. They are the goalkeeper two backs, three half-backs and five forwards.
The game: Before the play begins, the players of each party take their respective places. The referee blows the whistle and the play begins. One of the players kicks the ball from the center of the field to the goal line of the opposite party. The goal-keeper touch the ball with his hands. He remains alert. He prevents the ball from crossing the goal line. The game is played ninety minutes with an interval of ten minutes. The party that scores the greater number of goals wins the game.
Conclusion: Football is an interesting game. It makes us strong disciplined and prompt. It teaches us co-operation.
