A JOURNEY BY TRAIN

Hints: Introduction; At the station; In the train; Conclusion.

Introduction: Dhaka is our capital. But I had never been there. I had heard many interesting things about Dhaka. So, I had a desire to Dhaka.

At the station: Some days ago my elder brother went to Dhaka. I went with him. At 8-30 a. m. we boarded the train at Feni junction. It was the Mahanagar Express. The platform was crowded. The bell rang. The guard whistled. The train started.

In the train: After about an hour the train stopped at Laksam. It is a junction. The platforms were crowded. There were passengers, hawkers, beggars, and railway employees. After a few minutes, the train started again. It was running fast. On the way, I saw the Lalmai hills. The train did not stop at every station. It stopped at important stations. At about half-past twelve the train began to cross the Bhairab bridge. It is a very large bridge. From the train, I looked through the window. As far as my eyes could reach there was a river. The boats were sailing. Boats with white sails looked like geese. The sight was charming.

Conclusion: The train moved on and on. The telegraph posts seemed to run backward. The trees, men, and cattle-all seemed to run backward at a great speed. At last, we reached Kamalpur. Kamalpur is the biggest railway station of Bangladesh. We got down from the train.
